Hot Pot

One of the popular foods in East Asia is Hot Pot. It is a little different every where you go because the different regions all have their own spices and favorite ingredients but the concept is the same. This was my first Hot Pot experience.
First you order the ingredients that you would like to add to your hot pot.
We had noodles, mushrooms, potatoes, a potato like veggie called mountain medicine that is a local favorite, stuff that looks like bread but isn't, some green stuff called daughters vegetable that I am not really sure what is but feels like jello and tastes like grass, lettuce, and beef.

In the middle of the table there is a pot of boiling broth. Our broth was made from goose. The smaller pot in the middle has soup that is suppose to be very healthy for you.
One by one you take your ingredients and you dump them into the pot and let it boil until cooked. Then you fish it out with your chopsticks and enjoy!
The stuff above and below in my chopsticks is the bread like substance that is made from the leftovers after you wash flour. It looks like bread but it's texture is more like a rubbery sponge. Not my favorite but not bad either.
Here is my friend Kelly putting the beef into the pot.

It is an excellent dish for the winter time when it is cold outside.
