Coloring Easter Eggs

Here comes Peter Cottontail!Easter isn't complete without coloring eggs. It was these girls first time to dye Easter eggs.
They caught on pretty quickly and had fun trying different combinations.
They made some beautiful eggs.

Smile! Happy Easter!
I had two Easter Parties which meant lots of eggs.
Pick a color, any color!
Dunking...
...and dipping.Smiles all around.Lots of fun colors.
It was great fun.

The girls each took some home.

Easter Egg Hunt

I spy with my little eyes...Easter Eggs!Yep, it's that time of year.I had two Easter parties with local friends this year.

We hid eggs filled with candy in a courtyard on campus. Here are pictures of my English major friends looking for the eggs. She found one but was to short, and sent her friend over to get it! We had them looking high and low.

It was really fun and they enjoyed it a lot.Stopping to count how many they have left to find. This was the last of the 48 eggs we had hidden.

And the hunt goes on...

This is the first hunt we did right outside our apartment building.Spring has not fully sprung here so it wasn't the most appealing place to hunt eggs. But we made due.

High and low they searched for the 55 eggs we had hid.

They tried to beat each other, and be the first to find the eggs.
It is really fun to see people do something for the first time. No matter how old you are an Easter egg hunt is a good time.

I must say it was the strangest Easter Egg Hunts I have ever been a part of. The first place we hid eggs was disgustingly dirty and I didn't really need to know just how dirty Asia can be! Needless to say we left the rotting apple, busted cell phone, and dead cat carcass alone! This hunt we started with 55 eggs but never found 4! The next hunt started with 51 eggs but three walked away with some little kids that found them before we got started!

Chinese New Year

Happy New Year!

To celebrate the holiday I set off fireworks with a local friend.

We set off some of the normal stuff you would see at home. This was the smallest we had. Then we got out the big guns.

Check out the big fireworks we set off with our friend! These were no small fireworks!

Kind of scary to think that I was allowed to set off fireworks the equivalent of any respectable city fireworks show!

A little crazy that we were doing this in the dark in the middle of her housing complex.
