Sculpture Fun

Peek-a-Boo!

Welcome to the International Sculpture Garden. For those of you who think art is boring- you have never been to a sculpture garden with the right people.
It takes a good crazy friend to pose and interact with sculptures to make it fun!
Where else can you be a woman inside of a woman?
Or let out all your girlie prancing!
Gotta run with the crowd some times.

Or you can try to blend in!

Here's some big lips for you... mwah!
Chillin with the big hand.

High fiving a frog. (I have no idea why the frog is on a hand you just learn not to ask.)
Yee Haw! This was the best! Not everyday you get to ride a praying mantis.
Or karate chop him! Ay yah! Take that.
Sssshh.. there are dinosaurs.

Ahhhhh! You know this is true, my fear of dinos has never left me!
Maybe if I look like one of them, they won't see me!
CHOMP! Yummy apple.
How bout a little music?
Play it again, Kelly.
Bird of Prey? Actually I think it is a Kite.
Oh, NO! The blocks are tumbling down! How bout a swirly?

Quite the rainbow of fun.
Really.
Only the truly committed will go to this length.

Or this length! Nothing like a fish kiss!
We had an awesome jam session with this band.
We both rocked it hard on the drums...
... with our imaginary sticks!
Then I played them like bongos.
I think I coulda been a drummer.
Next we did vocals for another local band.
That's right, and the crowd goes wild!

Some art was just cool all on it's own!

The Wall meets the Ocean

On our trip out of town we went all the way out to the ocean. Two old friends along the beach.
A little girl out trying to collect shells.
But this was the main attraction. This is where the Great Wall begins!

Yep- the same wall that is in all the other pictures! It's a really long wall.
From the end of the wall you can look out on the ocean.
The wall goes all the way in and starts beneath the waterline.
Here we are at very beginning!

Me, the wall, and the ocean.

Grandma and grandson were there checking out the sights as well.
Isn't he cute!
Where there is wall, there are always layers of stairs.

The place is called the Old Dragon's Head which is what the wall here is suppose to resemble.

Fancy tours and museums sit a top this part of the wall.

Chinese architecture on the water.

You can kind of imagine a dragon head.

A near by dock had a small pagoda temple with these crazy warrior statues inside.
Oh yeah, I fit in.

Around the corner are idols of the sea goddess. This girl is being shown the idol worshipping ways of her father, learning to inherit the 'culture'.

Smoking incense burns as a man kneels in the background.

I think this might be the god to go with the sea goddess- not quite sure but there were two of them.
The traditional architecture is everywhere.

This one is the sea goddess.

This woman is kneeling offering her incense and prayers.

Locks and chains wrapped around the pagoda's pier.
