Everyone should be very impressed with this posting! The fact that I was even willing to get close enough to take these pictures and then have to see them again to post them is quite a feat!
In an alley way in Beijing you can buy and eat- scorpions! (and seahorse)
These are my two crazy friends that were willing to try it!
Here goes Ko- bravely taking the first bite! Check out the Asian in the background- he thinks she is crazy too!
Now we investigate the others... 3 more to go!
It takes Jacob a while to get up the nerve to bite one off.
But finally he dives in and rips it off the stick!
Now there are two left- which Jacob ends up eating since he couldn't find a trash can. After the first one though he decided they aren't that bad. They don't really taste like anything and there isn't much too them- it is just the concept of what you are eating! That is the hard part.
So there you have it- they skewer them alive- then smash them flat and stick them in the frier! Yum!
